SNEAK PREVIEW AND PROJECT UPDATE

Wild Rose Jefferson Announces Grand Opening Celebration Dates

JEFFERSON, Iowa (June 15, 2015) — Wild Rose Jefferson invited media and community leaders to a sneak preview of the new casino as part of a “Media Day” event at the casino. Although the casino is still under construction and not open for public viewing, Wild Rose garnered approval to host the gathering in the administrative offices.

General Manager Mike Couch gave an overview of where the project stands and introduced members of the management team.

“We have the entire management team in place and the casino is really coming together for the August 1 opening,” said Mike Couch, general manager of Wild Rose Jefferson. “The project is making significant progress every day, and we want to take this opportunity to update the community and media.”

Project updates:

  • The casino floor is completely carpeted and games are being tested with the Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission.
  • The kitchen and restaurant are nearing completion with equipment being installed.
  • The events center has been officially named and branded as the Greene Room and the casino bar will be called Lucky’s.
  • The city sewer extension is making good progress, and the company hopes to be hooked up soon.
  • Concrete and paving is moving forward as weather allows.
  • A second Job Fair will be hosted on Saturday, June 27, at 9 a.m. to noon at the Wild Rose transitional office in Jefferson. Hiring at the casino is approximately 40 percent complete.

Aaron Harn, the newly hired marketing manager, announced that the grand opening for the casino will be August 7 and 8, 2015. In additional to fireworks displays and entertainment, he noted that the opening act has been booked.

“I can’t give too many details until after July 1, but I can say that this is a Grammy-award winning artist with cross appeal in rock and roll and country,” Harn said. “We are working diligently to make this a very special event for the community and the region. The people here were key to getting the license a year ago and making this project happen.”

The casino, which offers a smoke-free gaming room as well as a high-limit area, will feature 525 slot machines including some old favorites and brand new games designed to appeal to players across several demographics. The old favorites include Buffalo Stampede, Wheel of Fortune, Gold Fish and Quick Hits. New games are:

  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • Herd of Wins
  • Ellen
  • Colossal Diamonds
  • Sphinx 3D

“We’ve designed the casino with high energy and fun in mind,” Couch said. “The colors, textures, features, games and restaurant are first class and designed with guest experience and comfort in mind.”
