Rick Gilson is a recognized authority on compliance and gaming regulations in Iowa with a solid base of experience in financial management, auditing and accounting. In performing the role of internal auditor, he draws on an extensive of knowledge of gaming laws and regulations, internal control structures and systems, and casino operations.
Mr. Gilson came to Wild Rose in 2007 after a 12-year tenure at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Des Moines, where he served as internal auditor. Prior to his involvement in the gaming industry, he served as a senior state auditor for the State of Iowa.
An active member of the community, Mr. Gilson sits on the board of directors for the Altoona Campus. He is president of the PCM Athletic Boosters, and was an adjunct professor of accounting for his alma mater, Simpson College, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He is a former member of the city council of Prairie City, having served for 12 years, including a term as Mayor Pro Tem.
